Has anyone been able to run the new Nikon NX-D (Ver 1.0) on Mavericks?

When I try to run it, it comes up and displays the UI then crashes with a SEGV error. I get the same error trying to run View NX-2.

Any ideas?

Finally spent some time finding the cause for Capture NX-D crashing on my Mac...

By default, NX-D opens the Pictures folder in your home directory then reads and displays thumbnails of all photos contained there. After temporarily clearing everything out of the Pictures folder, NX-D would run. I put a few back and still OK. But when I put everything back, it crashed.

So I must have a corrupt file there, but other apps do not seem to have a problem.

And I have yet to hear back from Nikon support.

I wish I could use it with Windows XP, but Nikon seems to forgot about
us guy's and I don't want to spend money on a new computer yet.

I agree XP is an excellent OS. I have an old custom built XP machine that I've had since XP came out. Now I just use it to print from. I like the epson interface on XP better than mac.

I edit on a Mac Pro dual quad core with 32 gigs of ram. I originally has snow leopard on it and had to update my Lightroom from 4 to 5 when I bought my Nikon Df. When I went to update LR I found LR 5 would only run on Lion or later. I couldn't find my Lion disc so I made the fatal mistake of updating to mountain lion. This is where everything went wrong. My Lacie screen calibration system works after installing an update but my computer won't retain the monitor profile. Also it repeatedly brings up a dialog box about my system. It does this over and over. Also my Wacom doesn't function properly.

I wound up taking my Mac to the local service shop and having an additional solid state drive with Lion installed in it. Now I boot to Lion and everything runs great. As you may know you can't go backward in OS unless you reformat the drive.

What I'm going to do is reformat the mountain lion drive and put XP professional on it. I have a licensed copy for fresh install.

I understand from clients that have maverick is it's terrible. I don't know of any of my clients that like it. I'm told it exaggerates colors and creates issues with profiling the monitor. Also like mountain lion Wacom tablets have issues in some cases. I don't need more problems and I'm not planning on a camera upgrade anytime in the next few years so I'm sticking with what works.

Most of my clients and mac friends that use their macs for design and editing wish like I do that apple would have an option in the preferences to shut off all of the extra features except just rumming the system. Allow us to customize our OS. I personally loved windows 2000 because it was just an operating system. It didn't try to be everything for everyone. It was simply for work.

It seems like almost every OS change from apple brings trouble. They don't get the bugs fixed in one OS and then they bring out another buggy one.

I agree that Nikon as well as others, Adobe too, should consider those of us that don't want to update.

There may be a file that was previously processed in NX2.

Rename pictures NX2 Pic and put only new files in pictures.
