Nikon Coolpix A customization

I am an itinerate tinkerer, always trying out new things and willing to break something in the trying. I wanted a grip and Arca QR plate for my newly acquired Nikon Coolpix A but there were none to be had (how can this be?). So I fabricated my own from two different plates from different manufacturers. Together with a Dremel Mototool and some JB Weld I fixed me a nice little grip on this puppy now! And the cool thing is that the depth is exactly the same as without the customization!

as you can see, the overall depth of the camera has not changed a bit -- it fits in my pants pocket as well as it did before the customization.

That is an "L Plate" -- there is a quick release plate on both the bottom and the left so that you can mount your camera either vertically or horizontally -- for example, to make precise panoramas...
