Nikon D4 is coming....

Maybe for that type of camera, but not for those of us who want to manually focus in low light. Rather than more of the same high tech for pros (higher maximum ISOs!, faster frame rates!, better video!), I would prefer to see Nikon, at least for 1 model, put some of these fancy new sensors in an old-school style body w/a nice, bright prism & traditional controls (basically a digital F3, F2, etc.) like Sony sort of did w/the Alpha 900. Basically, I love high ISO capability, but can easily do without the rest of the tech that comes w/it.

I think d700 is a perfect camera, period.

Nice, but what I really want is a digital SP. 🙂

At some point the concept of ISO falls apart. What good is 1/5000 of a second of exposure on a sensor that capable of recording a single photon landing on it every couple of minutes? 😉

Robert

you know, compare our night vision with a nocturnal predators. There are plenty of photons out there to 'catch,' in all but the most pitch-black settings. But yes, it will approach a limit. It just hasn't reached it yet.

Probably more magepixel with slightly better ISO capability, I mean, there's nothing left to be desired. Probably a better AF system to support several lenses in the future that can incorporate video focusing and zooming etc etc.

But yes, as mentioned before, I wish it pushes the D3s price down so I can get one cheaper preowned. Haha..

Have you tried one yet?
I used d700 for a year and half. I used it exclusively with manual focus lenses(nikkor, zeiss,cv). Never had any problems focusing in low light.
