Nikon D4s First Impressions Review at dpreview

And you speak for all of RFF?

Bye.

I think he's saying that user input and opinion is kinda the point of forums such as this. So if you had a D4s and shared your opinion on it, yeah, I think most everyone on this forum would be more interested in that instead of a clinical and corporate DPReview link.

I think DPreview is fine, I've gleaned much information from there in addition to numerous other sites. I think a number of folks would be interested in the posted link. Sites such as DPreview are a great starting place when researching new gear, I fail to see why the original respondent would get so bent out of shape at the link. Just because there is a post you don't like you shouldn't feel compelled to respond to it (as I just did 😳)

I didn't realize this, but wow, do you work for Dpreview or what? Why else would you only post all Dpreviews (p)reviews? Any way, did you notice they posted a Canon G1x II review?

As the Nikon D4s is a camera I probably will never own as I'm invested in Sony and Canon - I will refrain from saying anything about this camera.

I see Ranchu's point. There's nothing wrong with links to web pages with more info in support, and as an addition to a post offering some discussion, opinions, commentary, and not just a link to another site. I'm sure anyone contemplating a new digital SLR, or any digital for the matter will more than likely visit Dpreview anyway -- so the value of a link to the D4s dpreview is minimal. At Rff the focus is different -- and with a greater percentage of people who also shoot film. So the post is not really geared to the audience. Would a dpreview member (and I'm one too) make a post only containing a link to Rff? Hardly. And if they did the mods would can it -- bow down to Amazon. That said, whatever -- it doesn't really matter. 🙂

So how many people here are in the market for a six and a half grand DSLR and how many user opinions are we likely to encounter here?

Did the 'Nikon Guys' tweet about it? ... I must have missed that! 🙂

I think it's fine that JRG posts links to DPR's camera reviews. So long as we realize that posting links is all this poster is doing. I don't suppose this person has personal experience with most (or any) of the cameras reviewed.

It would help though if you (JRG) gave us some background as to who you are and why you post these links. Of course, just being interested in the current state of the art of popular cameras is a legitimate reason. But you know, something in your profile at least would help us know where you are coming from.

Can we get back to the camera instead of analysing the OP's motives?

As someone who has just started really enjoying sports photography the abilities of the D4s interest me. 😛

interesting,

first inquiries show, the DF holds up extremely well, to D4(s) actually that well that I might get an DF mid term but I wait for some more pricedrops.

I'm most surprised why dpr removed cameras like D3s or D700 from the comparison..

would love to compare D4s to D3s ;-)
