Nikon DG2 - Advice

Just got the nikon dg2 magnifier for my r-d1. Anyone have experience attaching it? It has a metal plate/hinge thingy and it bumps against the LCD when screwing it in. Anyone else use this and care to share how you attached it?

The post on DG-2 is in the end of the thread. I used this advice and it works!
