Thank you for the follow-up and photo using the adapter...
Considering the following: FotodioX Lens Mount Adapter with Generation v10 Focus Confirmation Chip for Nikon F-Mount Lens to Canon EF or EF-S Mount Camera
Price here is about double vs. purchasing and shipping from [e.g. B&H] NYC, so will take some time to shop around... Thanks again.

So after a bunch of research I picked up an inexpensive lens adapter... Nikon F-mount lens to Canon EF-mount body and did some test shots.
The test shots were taken with the Nikon AI-S 50mm f/1.2 on the Canon 5D Mk II with a K&F Concept e-chipped NIK-EOS lens adapter. All adapter photos were hand held...
01) Product shot
02) From the balcony (f/5.6 / ∞ hard stop)
03) Chip focus at f/5.6
04) Chip focus at f/5.6 with -1 compensation
05) Chip focus at f/5.6
06) Chip focus at f/1.2
Super simple to use, configure the camera for back button focus,
set the Canon 5D Mk II to Av mode,
I selected central focus point only,
manually set the f-stop on the lens,
press & hold back button focus while using manual focus,
adjust focus until focus point turns red & beeps,
and take the shot...
The adapter that I used was secure and easy on / easy off. The focus confirmation chip is glued to the body side of the adapter. Most likely I will order the chipped "FotodioX Pro NIKF-EOS-FC10" adapter, it was my first choice, but unfortunately out of stock everywhere. Note: it's the "Pro" version (the less expensive version has some reported issues).
Next up will be a field test shoot... experiment with focus techniques, still room for improvement.
