Nikon F2 + Motor

Get plenty of weight lifting in if you intend to carry this beast any distance. I have a couple of them, and the F-3 with MD4 feels like an FM2 next to the F2 with motor drive. That said, they are wonderful cameras. Just remember to keep the motor set at an appropriate speed. Too high a motor drive speed and too low a shutter speed leads to some expensive grinding sounds.

Ooof. I started my career with a pair of used Fs with F36 motors but quickly changed to a pair of F2s with MD-2s. I once took out a minicam with one of them...

Thanks for the tip, I always take care of this.
I really "needed" the F2 + Motor only twice, both times it were blasings and I used it with mirror up just to be sure.
>>expensive grinding sounds<< nice saying 😉

Fs with motordrives have silly prices :bang:
At least there is a black F Apollo with motorplate in my colset 😉

I finally got a MD-3 for my F2S, and it proceeded to break the head off the camera drive socket retaining screw. Fortunately, I have a spare F2 body with bad power circuit, so I sourced a replacement from it. The remains of the screw backed out quite easily without having to resort to any force.

Is that little black round box with zipper in the left botom corner a filmcontainer?
If so - really cute.
Where can I get things like that?

Look for them on ebay...
I don't remember where this one came from...might have been a local camera show (Swap meet), yard sale or pawn shop..
The older ones are made better, the newer copies seem to fall apart...
And yes it holds a roll of film...
