Nikon F2SB question

need some help looking at a nikon F2 that has a DP-3 prism does this make it a F2SB, the serial number is not in the range for the SB year which is 1976-77 the number says it is 1974, is the body different from 1974 to 1977 excluding the prism any internal differences? if you want a true SB it should be made in the 1976-77 year?

The DP-3 is top of the heap for using non-AI lenses on F2s. And rare enough that if you find one at a price you're willing to pay, you shouldn't worry about what body it's on!

You can always subsequently find a body in the matching serial number range, and doing so will be (or at least seem) thousands of times easier than finding another DP-3.

thanks for the replies i agree with what you have said if i was serious collector then i would probably want to have period serial numbers. just had to check with the experts thanks again
