What does the finger tip look like? Do any of the earlier pics show it?

On the previous page, look at Sam's F4S and F4e. Booth have the "finger tip" on the top of the grip near the shutter button.
On fraser's F4 and F4S, there aren't any.
This is the newer MB-20:
And this is the old one:
See the difference?

Gotten a couple chances to walk around with the F4S. Although the camera is big (bulkier feel than the Bronica RF645), the ergonomics of the MB21 grip are wonderful. Those curves fit right into the fingers and the thumb. Also realized that with the higher center of gravity lenses longer than normal make it tip over when you place it down.

Hmm, I never knew about that.
Mine is the newer one. The little raised area actually interferes with the strap in my opinion. Why would one want that ridge? Maybe I would just know if I held both back-to-back.

The newer MB-20 has actually 2 raised areas, one bellow the strap and a small one for the finger on the front.
I don't have a newer MB-20, but I do have the new MB-21 and those 2 ridges are there. For me the one bellow the strap makes it more comfortable to hold in my hands. With the old MB-20 the strap eyelet gets in the way.
