Nikon F6 w/ MB-40 focus question

Does the MB-40 battery pack make the Nikon F6 focus quicker? I know it winds the film quicker, but I don't care about that bit..

Not sure about the F6 but on the F4 if the batteries are a bit on the low side it tends to hunt a bit...

The F4 tends to hunt a bit regardless 😉
Mb40 only increased battery life and frame rate when I used one.
My F5 focused faster than my F6 with AFd lenses. Seems about the same with AFs.

Agreed, more weight, faster bursts (which I don't use), but the same focusing. Since I bought a pair of rechargeable CR123 lithium ion batteries and a charger for $25 on eBay I rarely use the vertical grip.
