Nikon FM query?

I pcked up a second Nikon FM recently and dicovered that the battery holder does not seurely attach to the cap and can fall otf easily.
Can I put some glue where it sparinggly where it attaches to the cover?

If the problem is with the battery cover you can likely find a spare on eBay. Many battery covers are easy to 3D print now too.

The FM battery cap is the same as many other Nikons, like FM, EM for sure…

Yes, the black plastic piece that secures the two LR/SR44 cells can be glued to the metal screw cover if it becomes loose.
No need to buy a new one.
Just don't put glue on the metal parts that touches the battery for conductivity.

Right, I think the batteries will fit fine without the plastic holder.

A second FM has the insert.

Then I guess you have lost it.

The FM battery cap has the black plastic insert glued on the side of the cap

It works. A thorugh cleaning w/ laquer hinner, then a drop of multi-purpose glue on 3 spots on the bottom of the holder and let dry and voila!, reassembled and it works.
