The lightmeter in my Nikon FM2N started playing up recently and I believe I need to send it in for repair. As I'm located in Europe, I hope somebody can point me to a reliable service shop for these cameras who would have parts for them as well.
My issue is that when there's strong light outside the meter underexposes by 6 or more stops. It gives - at the correct exposure, continues to do so when I extend the exposure and then briefly shows o immediatelly followed by the +. And it doesn't matter which knobs I change, aperture, shutter speed or ASA it behaves the same. When the light is low, i.e. indoors in the evening/at night, the meter works perfectly!
The battery chamber is clean, batteries are new, camera is in a good cosmetic condition...
I assume that some electronics died and they need to be replaced.
Is there a reliable repair shop in Europe (it would be $80 just to ship the camera to and from Japan) which might be able to fix this and do a good CLA of the camera?
Thanks!
