Nikon L35AF Vs Yashica T5 - The Battle Of The P&S

Very interesting, if not really unexpected. The L35AF is a Nikon, after all, and is one of the few point and shoot AF compacts that deserve to be called a classic, alongside some of the early entries from Konica, Minolta, and Canon.
It would be interesting to see a side by side comparison between the L35AF and the L35AF2 (One Touch). In my experience, the later model has less vignetting than the original, but it loses the filter thread and seems to not always age as gracefully (more prone to mechanical failure). The unheralded L35AF3 (One Touch Macro) seems, to me, anyway, to offer the best of both worlds, with the re-addition of the filter thread and added macro-focusing capability, along with an improved flash.

I was surprised to see the Nikon failed one edge test, but passed the other. Could be because of the different light levels.

I've got both cameras, and like them both for what they are. It also helps that I paid only $5 for the Nikon, and the Yashica was free.

The L35AF3 also has the +1.5 comp/flash defeat button that's missing from the L35AF2. the 2 takes AA batteries and the 3 takes a CRP2 if I'm remembering rightly.

I have the Yashica and both the L35AF2 and 3, but I have to own up that I've only run one roll through one of the Nikons, I really need to rectify that
