I have just become the proud owner of a Nikon 600mm f5.6 P a pre AI model. This lens was made in the 1960s and I believe it was the first 600mm that Nikon made. It's constructed in two parts. The lens and the focusing tube. The focusing is silky smooth on the focus tube but when it has a heavy F4s attached it starts to bind making precise focus more challenging. Nikon must have recognised this issue because they produced a cradle that fitted to the focusing tube to remove the problem. If anyone knows of one for sale please can you give me a pointer to its whereabouts. I have included a photograph of one fitted to a focus tube
