Hey! I just picked up a Nikon AF600 and its a great little camera... XA sized, clean design, simple to use! Onething I'm confused about is how you know whether or not the camera has successfully focused on something... the flash ready/in-focus light seems to come on (blink red) no matter what, and only for a fraction of a second, even if the camera is pressed up against a wall... which obviously is much closer than the minimum focus distance!

The manual says that the focus lock light only stays on for a moment.
