I read that too and will be very interested to see what comes out. I just got a GRD III as the size is so perfect I will be interested in see what comes but will be on the side lines.

Erwin Puts says the X-1 shares the same sensor as the D300 and that it is made by Sony.
I could easily see that statement leading to a Nikon X-1 rumor.

If nikon does this, I predict a pretty reasonable price. It will obviously end up competing with their cheapest SLRs, but they probably don't want it to compete with TOO many of them.
