I noticed that the native Nikon D70s RAW format is not recognized by the camera raw.bi (ver.2.4) plugin.
The latest plugin version (3.1) only seems to work with CS2.
The DNG converter 3.1 accepts the format, and the DNG format is accepted by the raw plugin. ( so at least I can shoot and process Nikon RAW shots).
Is there another workfow, without upgrading to CS2?

Not yet! Adobe's working on one. The issue is that Nikon decided to be stinky about their RAW format and declare it proprietary and off limits under the DMCA, so Adobe is having a hard time getting the source codes properly engineered.

I'd skip the Adobe converter and use Nikon Capture. I've found Adobe to give flat, boring images compared to Capture.
I've tried all the raw converters out there, and Capture is by far the best.

It should have come on a software disc with your D70! And yes, it's free off their website to registered owners.

Nikon Capture is a free 30 day trial, then it cost $100. Its worth every penny IMO.

I think Pixmantec's RAW shooter essentials will do the job and is free. www.pixmantec.com
