Nikon RF in digital form?

Ha! Just struck me that if Leica could pull off a digital M8 that looks like the M's before it....why couldn't Nikon produce a digital RF that looks like the SP?

I'd buy it!!! 😀

They could do it. But it would have to be a labor of love like the S3-2000 and SP-2005. Creating the actual camera would be fairly straightforward. You'd likely have a reduced-size sensor so they could work with existing technology. They could slightly rework the viewfinders to handle 21mm through 105s instead of the film SP's 28-135.

Such a camera would definitely show a continuing commitment to their historic legacy. They could brag about 1948 lenses fitting on a 2008 camera.

I think Nikon would get it "righter" straight out of the box than Leica did...and I'd buy one.

They could make it come standard with a reissued 21/4 Nikkor and some software to help with vignetting ... then stand back to watch what happens....
