I picked up an S body that needed a CLA to go with my S2. Didn't play with it much but sent it right off for repair. Got it back and it works great, the RF patch is great, the VF is clean as a whistle. Problem is the RF window is very small and not well defined. It's hard to explain but CameraQuest says the VF is better than the LTM bodies. This one isn't.

Is this naturally or maybe one of the VF lenses was put in backwards? I'd like to be sure before I spend the money to send it back.

I've seen people post pictures of the RF view, can someone do that for me?
 
Did you look through the VF before sending out? If so, what is different about it now, after the repair?

I think on the Cameraquest page, Gandy meant the viewfinder is similar or comparable to that of the LTMs, not that it's necessarily better.
 
check the prism behind the RF windows. Some of the silvering may have detiorated.

The S2 and SP finder are a world apart from the Nikon S- but the patch on my Nikon S is very bright, and the prism on my Nikon M is also good.

The Nikon S finder is comparable to the Contax II/III and IIa/IIIa finder.
 
I didn't know we were supposed to actually use these cameras -:).

The Rf patch is bright and contrasty and there is zero haze. It's amazing what a simple cleaning can do for most old cameras.

Well it is better than my Keiv / Contax III VF. I guess I was expecting it to be close to the S2 vf. I think it's a neat camera. I order new skin from Cameraleather to spruce it up some.
