Nikon SP Original Black Paint Registry

I have read that you had to be a working PJ with credentials to get a black Nikon SP when they were being produced back in the day. Is there a way to find out who originally bought the SP in question with the serial number? Silly question maybe but thought I would ask.

You might try sending a note to Bill Pelaka at Nikon Professional Services in NY. Bill is fairly good with Nikon history.
