Well these are handheld test shots taken withing 48 hours of recieving the adapter, and they may be crap, but it is certainly not the fault of the LCD, which is 912k with 7x and 14x movable mag.

I was thinking the opposite. A high-res LCD with a magnification area that can be moved around the frame like the ones on the NEX is perfect for using movements. It's analogous to moving a loupe around on an LF ground glass.

I want a tilt+shift adapter for micro 4/3. All 35mm SLR lenses should have plenty of coverage for the little 4/3 sensor.

I take it that knurled screw on the right-hand side of the adapter locks the tilt?

There are two knobs--I think what you describe as a screw. They turn a 360 degree ring between the mounts which tightens or loosens on whatever angle you choose.

For most of these shots I have the ring loose and am adjusting the lens angle and focus ring to experiment with the POF.

The build quality is pretty decent.

Lensbaby has a much more expensive one which tilts more.

There is no shift.

Does this adapter function for rise-fall and left-right shift? While keeping the lens perpendicular to the sensor? Like a conventional PC lens for 35mm cameras? Or does it only do LensBaby type swinging/tilting?

As I tried to say above, it does not shift. It tilts up to about 12 degrees in any direction. It only costs a hundred bucks.

The graphic designer LOVED these shots--the dance class--which to me don't show any miniature effect at all but simply a very high isolation of focus on the subject.

The shot in the first series with the girl sitting on the rug--that shows the miniature effect to my eyes anyway.

I could not have shot these with ANY DSLR, I don't think.

For example, a DX3 with the 2100 PC-E 24mm is too slow at 3.5---well who knows maybe the ois and good FF iso could make up for the speed of my 50mm at f/1.4

Of course some extra time in software might do it, with better results.

It's a bit tricky to focus of course, but that's why 7fps and a big card is nice, hehe.

Well since it's a 50mm, I think it has to be the tilt

The Hi-Rez what you see is what get LCD helps--you can see exactly what you've got when using legacy glass--DOF, everything.

When using LAEA1 and the excellent cheap sony "easy choice" however, the aperture stays open untill the shutter is depressed, so you do not get a "live view", though brightness does vary with manual settings.

The sub 200usd sony DT 35mm F/1.8 is fast and wicked sharp--very light also.

The most noise is about a very fast 24mm sub f/2

This actually is a fantastic size for the nex, like a classic 35mm.

Now I use the canon nFD 24 f/2, which sells for 250+ when you can find one.

The upcoming 24 I think will be over 400 and possibly much higher--they say it will be CZ.

The other easy choice which is remarkable is the 85 f/2.8 which is 175g!

They all seem to be very sharp, but you are right, the nex needs compact RF sized primes with good AF and from 28 up OIS.

Why they do not simply use the current easy choices, adapted to emount with imporoved AF, I do not know.

The very short register, sensor to lens, on the nex, also means that some very compact primes could be made---but let's not hold our breath.

I can't wait for the alleged 24mm f1.x Zeiss. Manual rangefinder primes from 35mm and up seem to perform well enough on NEX, but below 35mm is hit and miss. A fast 24mm would be great. Fingers crossed. Here are the 4 lenses expected this year. I'm going to guess 50mm 1.4 (hope it is 60mm 1.4,) 55-200mm zoom, 30mm f2.8 macro, Zeiss 24mm f1.7. We'll see!
