Nikonos 2 lens stuck during removal

After twenty or more years I dusted off my nikonos II

while turning the lens for removal it got stuck with the two knobs being in the final vertical position.

From that it doesn't further move, if not a little rightward.

No way to pluck it out then.

I wonder what has happened, and if the re is a quick DIY repair.

Sending it to a shop would be meaningless since used II's seem to cost next to nothing.

That's exactly where it is stuck. No pulling at any force.

There is a slight tilt (can be felt and seen with glasses, some 1 mm on one side).

My guess is that the o-ring has gone out of place or something similar.

Maybe grease solidified. I don't feel like to pour any solvent save perhaps for some isopropyl.

You probably just need to pull it out. Bet the o-ring is shot. I wouldn't pour anything in!!

Buy a new O-ring (Ebay) and some Nikonos grease.

...or someone tried to force the camera case open without removing the lens at first...

Get it warm (110 degrees F) not hot, rock back and forth, try to reseat rather than remove. If reseated then pull lens out while twisting.

Surprisingly today it came out without any effort. Since I felt some suction I suspect some vacuum effect was in place, kind of when you try to open jars and the lids are stuck until you force some air in with a knife. probably tilting the lens a bit let some air in at last.

I think I had a similar issue with my Nikonos 5 many years ago but its design allows the back to be opened which equalised the internal and external pressure for easy lens removal.
