I don't know all that much about this but I was hoping someone in the forum might. I have an original Nimslo 3d camera (the one for lenticular images) but its focus is fixed at about 7' away, which is a kind of awkward distance. What I wonder, is can I change the focus distance by moving the film slightly farther from the lens? I'm thinking I could add some tape or other material along the film rails so that the film can be a few mm further from the lens possibly moving the focal point from 7' to more like 4-5'.

Is this even theoretically possible? I know the old Mamiya 6 folding medium format rangefinder focused by moving the film in relation to the lens so I think it could work.

Thoughts?

It would be possible if the pressure plate has adequate travel.

You would need to shim both the two film rails (the inner pair) and the pressure plates rails (outer pair) an equal amount. The outer rails need to remain slightly higher than the inner pair so that the pressure plate is held back to leave a thin channel for the film.
