Long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with Nippon Photo repair in midtown manhattan, near the public library. I have a Rolleiflex Wide Angle that needs fixing up by the beginning of June.

Thoughts?

For Rollie Harry Fleenor is the guy. Factory trained, but expect to wait perhaps 10-12 weeks. BTW Harry is very timely so when he says 10 weeks that when it is shipped. There is a backlog for good reason.

I live in NYC and certainly Nippon over the years I have used a lot, but I still send my Leicas to Sherry, and I would send my Rollie to Harry because he is the best.

Harry Fleenor would be my #1 choice for 'classic' Rolleis. Steve's Camera Repair in Culver City, CA would be my #2. They just did a fantastic job repairing my 2.8GX that no-one else - including Harry - would touch due to parts availability etc etc.

Frank Rubio (frank@cameradoctornyc.com) repaired two of my Rolleis, one of which Krikor Krimar Photo was unable or unwilling to repair. He repaired my Widelux as well. He's great.

I second what others have said above. As for Nippon, the quality of their work was beyond doubt, and their customer service and turnaround have been excellent for me. But--and this is a big but--their prices have always been sky-high in my experience.

Nippon Camera Clinic is a "Pro" shop. I agree that the prices are high, but the turnaround is the fastest I have experienced.
