Digital cameras are the best thing that ever happened to concert photography. These are some great shots of a very expressive singer. Good job, Andreas!

thank you 'PF'. Right, I didn't even have to use a fast lens nor do I have an expensive camera but I still was able to choose fast exposure times, it's high ISO performance is that good. My gear also is small and light, music was great and I was dancing, only sometimes took it out of my small belly bag to snap

thank you very much for the kudos Andy.
All had been taken from two positions only, first looking towards the center of the stage where I was with my friends, and later from the left side in front of the stage where we had gone to dance.
I believe that manual focus might be of great advantage, no delay when releasing makes timing easy ( but must say that I only have very little experience with autofocus, zero with a cam that does that well )

Great series, Andreas. And I didn't need earplugs. Paul's remarks sum it up.

thank you very much Craig, happy you enjoyed
Paul, I had felt so too, as if she performed just for me, and I am sure pretty much everybody had felt like this
Robert it's electronic dance beats, her voice and performance are outstanding, maybe you would have enjoyed the sound too?
samples to listen ( at least until minute 1, when she starts to sing in Spanish ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0YQW7XUuso
and to watch her in action ( sound is a bit compromised ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KROx2vJMSg
thank you very much Daveleo, I had a ball!

Paul I had to look up Steve Rich, good observation and she sounds nice, but I still prefer Nita, most likely because I 'experienced' her live, so for me it's Steve being a bit "Nita-ish'..
mccurley thank you very much for your great acknowledgement, you are most kind, Vincenzo and brbo, quite humbling, thank you so much for you very favorable comments!!
Of course your very positive comments make me feel a bit proud, I take them as great encouragements, thank you all!

your positive response prompt me to tell a story: Some years ago I had taken photos of a very good life band, 'Saharaja', in Indonesia and later had sent them photos. They had liked them very much, wrote back that no photographer ever had captured their spirit that well and had asked me if they could use some of them on their website. I had thought that I should get some money and had posted some of these photos in a forum asking for advice on how to do proceed. Various accomplished photographers had reviewed my photos and said that my live concert photos really were very good..while my other photography was average..Haha, I hope that by now specially my 'other' and also my concert photography have improved and if only because manual focus is easier on my current camera, but ever since I have been thinking that using manual focus lenses really might have a decisive advantage in catching good moments of live performances. ( the better ones I took that time had been taken with a Soligor f3.5/180mm on dSLR Pentax *istDs, later I took more in a pub where I could get closer but it was very dark, used a S-M-C Takumar 1.4/50. For anyone interested : https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/albums/72157606664336319 )
