No 45mm frame line

Hello,
I'm new here and just acquired a Fujifilm TX-1 with 45 and 90mm lens. I found the frame line is always set to 90mm no matter what lens is on or even without the lens. I don't plan to fix it since I searched the forum and found the replacement part is quite expensive and timing consuming. Just wondering if any one can give me an estimation based on the 45mm view finder? There is an example in page 25 of TX-1 user manual (in Japanese). Is this figure pretty much accurate?

Of course, if you have any idea to fix this issue without part replacement, that is even better. Thank you.

yup pretty much nearer, but remember when you do focusing the frame may move slightly, so you may have to take the approx view in every shot

I have been using a friend's XPan and have found I capture roughly to the outside edge of the frame lines.

In regard to the 45mm frame not showing - I only have the 45mm lens so am not entirely sure how the frame selector works (something in the bayonet mount?), but if it moves as it should my guess is that the problem is internal and not so easy to fix.

Is the camera still stuck on the 90mm frame with the lens off?

Yes. Even without lens, the frame line is still stuck at 90mm. I can see the zoom ratio of viewer finder is smaller when 45mm or no lens is attached. I found there is a small selector on the side of lens bayonet. I guess the length of flange of 90mm is longer than 45mm. When 90mm is attached, it will trigger the selector and change the zoom ratio and frame line at the same time.

I had a similar issue with my XPan. I sent it to Hasselblad in, I think, New Jersey. They had to send off to Germany (or someplace, I think it was germany) for a major finder part. I forget what it cost, but it wasn't cheap. I did get a CLA included in the price, though.

The frameline selector is similar to Leica M. A cam on the lens actuates a lever inside the lens mount opening. I wish these things would get stuck in the 45mm position instead. Who wants a 90mm lens on a panoramic camera anyhow? Before I got mine fixed, I tried guesstimating by composing somewhat within the hard edges of the finder. But it was fairly critical, enough so that I cut it too close on some shots. So I got it fixed.
