Ive been telling myself I'd replace my NEX kit with Fuji if they confirmed a 23/2 WR as has been rumored for months. The announcement of the 23/2 WR was great, and the 50/2 WR was a pleasant surprise since I prefer a 35/75 two lens kit.
I'm surprised there hasn't been more chatter here about these two announcements!

I didn't see the announcement. I've been waiting for that 23/2 since the beginning of the X-mount system. I have no need for a 50, but that 23 will be mine as soon as I can get it.

Where was this announcement? I know those lenses are on the roadmap, but no official images or specs have been released AFAIK.
That said, I happily replaced my 35 f1.4 with the 35 f2 when it was released and am more than happy. And while the 23 f1.4 is an amazing lens, it's far too large for my liking. Assuming the 23 f2 is close to the 35 f2, I'll have a perfect travel kit with the XP2!
Lately I've been supplementing a 35mm focal length with the 18 f2 when traveling with the XP2 in addition to the 35 f2. Great combo IMO.

what?
^ yeh.
I've seen no pictures of the 23/2.0, but it's on the roadmap.
That would be my lens for sure.

Yes, I'm completely excited since these are two lenses I truly want. The 50mm can't come quickly enough... unfortunately, not due until next year. 23mm is due in a few months.

Ditto here. I have the 35/2... excellent little lens. When the 23/2 arrives, I'll likely sell the 27. And when the 50/2 finally arrives, I'll sell off my adapters for Leica screw-mount 50's and Nikkor 50's. And the lenses that go with them.

My X100 is afraid, with all the right reasons to be so!

The x100t is still my favorite camera although I do grab the XP2 more often nowadays. Still, when I want a single body and a do-anything kit, the x100 is what I grab. Really looking forward to the next release of that camera. If Fuji adds weather sealing, reworks the lens, and possibly go with the NP-W126 that EVERY other Fuji X camera uses, it'll be amazing! Obviously it'll have the new sensor and joystick too making a perfect camera even more perfect.

Road map = announcement, at least it does in my book!
I can see an X-Pro2 replacing my NEX7 and my X100s...

But roadmaps change, the 120mm macro changed to a 90mm macro for example. A roadmap is just official speculation, not an announcement.

I disagree the Fujifilm road map can be dismissed as speculation. Fujifilm's roadmap has been revised from time to time. However the 23/2 and 50/2 should be straightforward. The only change I can see is the 50 could turn into a 56. The only uncertainty of concern would be the timing.
The I would pre-order the 23/2 of I didn't have a X100T and the 10-24/4 XF lens. I also have the 56/1.2. So neither of these lenses excites me. If I was new to Fujifilm or considering switching, both these new f 2 offerings would be exciting.
I use the 35/2 FX lens exactly as I would have used a 50/2.8 lens with 35mm film. The same goes for the 56/1.2 even though it's a two-stop difference. I happily used an ancient Nikkor 85/2 LTM lens with a Zieiss Ikon M.
For my projects the aperture differences are irrelevant. If my work depended on subject isolation I would feel differently. For me, wide maximum apertures aren't that useful in very low light. The main limitation is the shallow DOF. The signal-to-noise ration with contemporary camera data streams means the extra light (a.k.a. signal) wide apertures deliver isn't as critical as it was not too long ago.

I also agree that they will be coming, they are not exotic and should sell well.
When and how much are still unknown though...

im interested on the 50mm f2 WR, it might be a good combo with my XF 18mm f2.
although I've never gelled with 75mm-90mm focal lengths.

Well the 23mm is rumored for Photokina. 50mm - 2017. Price should be similar to the 35mm.

Similar situation for me and many others. I use the X100s a lot.
Won't join the 35 f2 bandwagon 'cause I like the 35 1.4 so much.
Ditto the 56 1.2.
If new to Fuji it could be different thinking, possibly different conclusions.
Meanwhile, Mr. Fuji: Please update the 18mm and/or give us a smaller 16mm, of f2 or even 2.8 aperture. MF/AF clutch and focus scale, WR...pancake form unwanted

Ride, dive, shoot.
35/2 is pretty much glued to my X-Pro2. I'm quite sure I'll be lining up to get the 23/2. For 50mm, I'll probably stick with my Summilux Pre-ASPH.
