After many years of a null-Leica existance, rationalized by infrequent thiftstore and garage sale leica copy(Leotax, feds 1,2,3a,3b) purchases, I found a 1936 IIIa, Summar 50/f2 with metal lens cap and leather never ready case., in a local thriftstore today. They wanted a fair price based on a working camera. Unfortunately, in addition to the crude owner's id engraving on the rf cover and the lens mount, the shutter was jambed and the lens cloudy and had cleaning marks. After I pointed out the non-working shutter and shined a pocket flashlight(torch) through the lens to demonstrate its optical shortcomings, They accepted my counteroffer at the counter. I was able to remove film chips in the shutter path and got the shutter working again!!.
The screw collar which surrounds the shutter release is missing. Anyone have one, or know where I might procure one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
