snip....

This new act known as the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act, which received Royal Assent, allows all work considered to be an orphaned work to be used for free

Snip...

The majority of websites and social media sites strip out all metadata. This makes an image and orphan work, allowing it to be used for free and for any purpose

What the What????

If Photographers don't fight this, it is a slightly open door that may/will give creditability to stonger laws world wide...

What do you think, place a 50% opacity CR in th center of your internet posted images?

Really..... now we have to demand that Metadata be NOT stripped during/after upload????

Don't upload to public servers. Give your customers access to invisibly-watermarked, password-protected galleries with a click-through "slow and painful death" agreement to get to the images.

(And see the earlier link about the same story ;) )
