No more free accounts for Magnum Photos?

I have been enjoying browsing through the Magnum archives for years now but today i tried to log on to my account and i got the following message:

"Access to Magnum Pro is currently only for licensing clients, so your account has been invalidated. If you are a professional client or you believe that your account needs further consideration, please get in touch with us at "email-address" and we will review your circumstances."

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I did not know there was the possibility to browse the Magnum archives. For sure interesting. Now I know but it is too late!

Oh gosh, yes, you could search by country and time period and would return all pictures sorted by Photographers. It was a true photographic treasure. Now it shows that the account is not valid.

I have been enjoying the Magnum site for years. Absolutely a treasure, but have not been there in a while. If this is true, the world (well, resources for incredible images) has just gotten a wee bit less bright for me. Sad.

Just an update on this - i received the following email.


Dear Pan,
Current Magnum policy limits access pro.magnumphotos.com access to professional licensing clients. We do hope to introduce a tiered access system later this year which will allow private users to browse the database as they had in the past.
In the meantime, I suggest you follow us through magnumphotos.com and our social media accounts.
