No more pixel peeping
Took the Industar 61 to the waterfront for a quick half hour shoot while I waited to pick my son up from work. So far I'm pretty happy and enjoying a new focal length.
All at 200 iso

I really like the first one - very strong composition and great colour. Did you do much sharpening - the lens looks super sharp.

I only sharpen after the resize using the smart sharpen option in CS2 set at
Amount 100%
Radius 0.3
Remove : Gaussian Blur
and check the 'more accurate' box
it seems to work well when resizing down to around 900 pixels
When I took it I was thinking B/W but the blues came out nicely. The R-D1 often does this to me, where I have to keep it in colour

It was very nice of somebody to come along and paint the top of each post a nice red to contrast with the bluesPeter_Jones said:Fantastic colours, can't wait to see those pics on my monitor at home.

PS - Peter, I just noticed you are from Lancashire - I hope to be there in late May for a couple of days, should I expect good weather for photos?

The Industar is sharp. Looks like a nice summer underway. I have an I61 for my Pentax Spottie, my results have been good. Thanks for the pictures.

PS by "warm" I mean by the standards of a damp island

Thanks Peter (and Pitxu). I suppose 'warm' is subjective as I sit here in shorts only on a sunny Aussie day.Peter_Jones said:Pitxu speaks the truth. Depends which bit of Lancashire , W Lancs can be warm in May, as can N Lancs where I now live. My old stomping ground of East Lancs (home of good football teams) can see all four seasons in a day. There's plenty to see and do, hope you enjoy your time here.

I am planning a study tour (for work) that will take me to Sweden, Germany, France and the UK. The R-D1 should rack up some seious actuations
Must save up for a 21mm lens to use with my GRD 21/28mm finder and my kit will nearly be complete (except for that 15mm).
