I've been away for a week enjoying the relaxing effects of Cape Cod, so I'm not sure if this item has been noted here in RFF. I just took a look at dpreview.com to see what the digital photo folks are up to and found this news from Sony:

"Sony has announced the Party-shot personal photographer, an automated photo-taking cradle. The device uses the DSC-WX1 and DSC-TX1's face- and smile detection functions to detect photo opportunities in social environments. The Party-shot sits on a table or tripod and tilts and pans to locate and follow potential subjects. It will also recompose its shots based on the rule-of-thirds"

Apparently photographers are no longer necessary! Someone could mount one of these cameras on top of one of those little robot vacuum cleaners and let it roam the party looking for "potential subjects". 🙂

It'll probably hijack forum threads in order to inject the comment that there can not possibly be a finer camera/lens, nor has there ever been. And it'll only come in black in order to be more 'stealthy' at the parties. 🙂

I want one that can be programed for "Ample Cleavage" of aproaching subjects and "shapely derriere" of departing subjects. Jiggle and wiggle reducing software would ensure crisp images while a control to emphasize or obscure panty lines would have to be included.
