In a couple of other post's I'd mentioned I was trying a new(to me) FSU source for lenses, etc. I got the package today(Wednesday) when I got to work. Yipee!
The dern box was actually delivered Tuesday(my day off) but I'll save that rant for the "Yer Coworkers are Knuckleheads Forum".
I bought a universal viewfinder(it came with the orig. bakelite case and instructions), a collasible Industar 50 lens(it came with a front cap and was in a bakelite case), two yellow filters(one for 40.5mm and one slip on for the I-50),a red 40.5mm filter and a hard plastic/bakelite(not sure which)slip on lens hood(fits both the I-26 and J-8 lenses I own.
It was all in very good condition(no marks on the lens, no scratches on the barrel only some old lubricant on the threads--obviously not a new lens but well taken care of--or total crap and stuck in a drawer...I'll see how it shoots) and the Universal finder seems unused(no scratches at all no marks on the base).
I had a bad moment til I figured out the infinity lock thingy on the I-50.
Unexpectedly there were also two other lens caps(one fits the I-50 and the other fits 40.5 lenses). Each of the filters were in their own plastic case and every thing was wrapped in a pale brown cellophane then put in the respective cases--this gave me a bit of a pause before I opened the clearish filter cases: I thought the filters were VERY dusty/dirty.
The box was packed very well--no bubble wrap but pieces of semi-hard foam cut to fit around everything and keep stuff from moving about.
I am happy with the prices I paid for every thing and will do business with this guy again! I have been to his web site before but didn't realize he was selling the stuff until I went to sign his guest-book and saw several other people thanking him for things they had bought from him.
One caveat: His written english is adequate but not polished. I had a difficult time trying to explain what a "body cap" was and I'm not sure if I was sucessful or not.
Anyway, his web site is:http://www.rus-camera.com/index.php
Now I just need to get the rest of the lenses to use with the viewfinder!
He figured delivery would take 12 to 17 days and it was 12 or 13 depending on how I count them(the time difference confuses me) and if my coworkers had called me would've been 11 or 12 days.
All in all a good experience!
Best, Rob
