Sorry this is an SLR question but I'm not really active on other forums that might be able to help.
I have a Minolta XD11 SLR that I just bought with a beautiful Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 that I'd like to use. The camera passed the shutter test in the store (no battery) but I didn't notice until later... there's no grooves on the takeup spool for the film to go it. Just a column and glue on it that suggests they fell off or were removed.
Where the heck would I get such a thing without buying a whole new one for parts? With a battery this camera seems PERFECT, except if I put film in there's nowhere for it to catch.

Obviously the broken/missing part needs to be replaced. In the meantime if you have to/want to use the camera, you can attach the end of the film to the takeup spool shaft with tape. I did this with a Leica CL where the white plastic film clips were broken off.

That's a great tip, thanks. Obvious, but exactly what I was looking for.
