Noctilux at $27,499

Well, bidding is only at 3K so far. I wonder if there is a sucker that will use a BIN? But than again - I'm sure of it.

Good on him. I like stories like that, especially seeing as he's always wanted one. Wish him luck for me.

To put it this way: My uncle actually bought this. I kid you not. $16,000. He could have picked up a Noctilux from Meister camera for about $6000. But no, he bought it.

Less than three weeks later he received an offer for the set that would have made it possible to cover the $16,000 AND get a Noctilux from Meister. What did he do? He took the damn lens out, and *used* it! So, that leaves 99.

For the record: My uncle is not mad, but an unexpected inheritance put him in a position where he was able to buy the Leica that he always had dreamt about. He wanted to buy it new, so this was the only option at the time. He also got a M8, and he's looking for a MP3 set in black paint (Does anyone have one that they would like to sell?)

I guess, if you wait long enough you deserve it.

The white gloves are great.

Cirque: You should ask your uncle to pick up one of those cheap $6,000 Noctiluxes for you. Ask him if he'll get me one as well.

It just makes me feel like smashing my head on the desk for some reason ... not sure why though because Leica and the buying public can do what they damned well want and it won't knock the planet of it's axis ... I think! :p

I have a Noctilux for sale in the want ads here for a bargain basement price of $6K (Shameless plug!). No humidor, unfortunately, but I will build you one for a mere $5K extra. A double bargain!

/T

Anyway ... what the hell does Stephen think he's doing starting a thread like this. It could potentially turn into another huge Leica verses the rest sh*t fight with people calling each other names, insults flying round all over the place and another couple of members banned!

Maybe it's a behaviour test! :p

God bless him, that's how it should be for someone who always wanted one. Perhaps this one will end up the same way.

Okay, let me kick things off:

You are a big ***-*** head, Keith.

I don't know how to respond to that ... I thought of calling you a ****** but that seemed a little extreme so I settled for ****! :D

Once we were in a store and the girl at the counter saw my girl friend's yellow Lomo Fisheye. She said she loved it and asked us how much it cost. My gf said 60 eruos. The girl said it was too expensive for her.

Upon hearing that, I thought about the Bessa R2A + Nokton 35/1.2 in my bag, which cost me 900 euros and were considered, by me, as a "compromise" for M7 + Noctilux....

After that day, it just makes sense to me for anyone to buy anything at any price.

It's a Noctibubble. At some point the bottom will fall out and the owner won't be able to get more than the $2000 used Nocs were going for before the bubble started.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, that’s the perfect box to stash your weed in. :D

But on a less serious note, that ‘investment’ seems to be appreciating quite nicely. Not laughing anymore are ya ? :(

I'll laugh when and if the item sells. One can list an item at ANY price but that does not mean that the item will sell at that price. Value is ONLY determiined when the seller decides to sell and the buyer decides to purchase and money changes hands.

It is a nice himidor though!-Dick

Leica can certainly use the money so if they can cash in on something like this then why not?
