If I had a Noctilux... I'd be shooting at 1.0 day and night.
Days probably with 25iso and 400 at night. May be sometimes stopping down to 1.4 to get some more DOF

Ned shoots interesting stuff... I shoot my kids. One of our other members said "If you want to take more interesting photos, lead a more interesting life." Does anyone know - was he quoting someone famous? Or is this an original bon mot?
Anyway, here's a couple of recent shots with the Canon 50/0.95. I find I tend to set the focus and then move back and forth to find the area of focus that makes the shot more pleasing to me.
ZI, 50mm @ 0.95, Neopan 1600
ZI, 50mm @ 0.95, Bergger 200
Cheers! - John

Make photos, not war.
I'd love to join in the fun but sadly my fastest lens is a humble Canon 50 1.4 which isn't quite in the "super speed" category.
May I make a suggestion to Noctulix owners?
Please try taking some shots with the Noct @ 1.0 with Velvia - its an absolutely magical combination which exploits the Noct's ability to render colours in ways I've not seen from any other lens.

Ned, what strikes me in your work is the way you control the fuzziness. Movement, fuzziness, highlight, shadows ... you have a very personal approach of your subject.

Marc,
Thanks so much for your kind words.
I shoot what touches me deep inside. I really go out and let my feelings dictate my "vision"... Of course, my street subjects are just that, street subjects, but I've assimilated so many of other people's work over the years (years and years of contemplatind Doisneau's work, magazines, galleries, and now the net...) that when it comes to shooting a given scene, my mind is set on an exact Idea.
Of course, Photoshop and careful scanning help me achieve a tonality I am happy with.
