Thanks Greg 🙂 I am enjoying this lens very much! I shall post another 3 pictures from a series I shot 2 days ago.. I hope you guys wouldn't mind!
Dirk, very nice framing & pp!
Sure do like the extra smooth bokeh of this lens. Worth some extra money that's for sure. Not sure I could pay what is asked for it though even if it is a very sweet lens.
For certain I would buy one now if I didn't need my kidney:bang: I can see from these photos it's a super lens. I will probably cough up the money at some point..Chris - for getting this lens, you either have to be rich or you have to sell a kidney.
For me, selling a kidney is well worth this f1 lens ;-)
In fact, the Noctilux makes me want to shoot many other lenses much less - they all seem to be much less exciting, as they miss the look, the Noctilux hooks you on. In fact, I'd happily sell some now unused lenses, if need be, as they seem redundant now, that they collect dust - the 50 Lux ASPH is one of them - makes me wonder ;-)
Be warned though, experiencing the Noctilux with an open heart can make you an addict (many people have prejudices, which don't allow them, to really experience it).
It really is much different form what the internet tells you. Some fall in love with it, after getting one, others don't and sell it off again.
The nice thing about the Noct is, that you won't loose much on this experience, as the price is slowly, but constantly rising - still.
Also with the Noct, it is not just about the soft background or dof - it has a very, very special rendering of fine detail.
It has not the crazy resolution across the field, like modern Leica designs, but it resolves fine detail (hair, textile, etc) in the center very good with a very dreamy, gently soft layer of "angel dust".
I have not seen this with other lenses - in my opinion, THIS very character makes the Noct - not it's f1 dof or "bokeh" (man, do I not like this word).
