Hi all,
Please forgive me for not having the time to read this entire thread as I'm new to the forum. I would like to chime in with what I consider a bit of expertise and experience. I bought one of the first 300 version 1 f1.0 lenses made (which I still have) and have been shooting it continuously since (actually my experience started before with the f1.2 which was my father's). I always shoot wide open, mostly fashion and classical dance.
My observations are very simple, the Noctilux offers a look/rendering that cannot be duplicated by any other lens/camera combination (or any other format) offered by any other manufacturer. That being said, if you like/love/need that look, then the Noctilux is the only choice.

Saverio, I beg to differ, not giving you a challenge or opposing, but from what I see.
I love the F1 Noctilux, which is most of the time on one of my two cameras, I mostly carry (the other being a 35mm).
Before getting the Noctilux, I used a pre ASPH 90 Cron and one can see quite some similarities in the look of these two lenses.
They both have a signature with very fine rendered detail and an underlying layer of "angel dust", as I call it.
Both can look very similar, while I prefer the Noctilux, mostly, as I feel, that it is much easier to focus wide open, compared to the 90 Cron and of course, that it gives two stops more light, which is essentially the reason, why I got one in the first place.
Please share some photos here - it's a friendly thread for the Noctilux lovers - you can never get enough photos, to see from it ;-)
Jesse posted some of his spectacular portraits with the Noct on a M9 lately - wanted to say, I love 'em ;-)
I didn't post much lately.
I have found my favorite lab back yesterday (they moved to a new and better place and have longer opening hours
😀).
You don't get to see much of tuned old cars in China mainland - this ain't Hong Kong here ;-)
