I love this thread (and forum) I've been watching it for a while and it finally inspired me go out and get an M6 to go with my Noct (I had the lens on a panasonic G1 before the M6). Here's a few of my first shots with it so far:

I don't mean to be rude, but this is a joke, right?
That what is a joke? No to anything I suppose. I've been photographing for years (just a hobby, not a pro or anything, but I enjoy taking pictures), and finally just moved back to film after years of shooting digital. I started with a nikon FM in highschool/college... took a few years off then got some crappy digital cameras then I got an LX3. Borrowed my dad's noct last year (he wouldn't give me his M5 so I had to settle for getting an G1 + adapter) and started reading this forum (without posting). I debated an m9 or m6 and didn't want to spend the money and liked the film look better anyways. I finally took the plunge and got an m6 from b&h along with adding in a SA 21mm to the my set (again, "borrowed" from my dad, though I don't think he's getting it back anytime soon
Also, all the shots are definitely taken with the noctilux (1.0 version from I think '77). It should be fairly obvious with the last one since I shot it all the way open, though I know that I took the other two with it as well. I have the 21mm and have shot with it some, but it's still difficult for me to adjust to the lack of metering.
I'm scanning all the images with a epson v500 that I bought a few weeks ago. Aside from some basic contrast and exposure adjustments in lightroom I haven't worked the images (that vignette in the last one is from the Noct).
My photographs are here: http://flickr.com/stimply
The most recent 10 or so are from film with a break before that as I was waiting for my scanner and pretty much everything before that is with the G1/Noct combo.

Apologies, Dude. It was the Noctilux/G1 incongruity that tickled me. I'm
amazed your dad let you play out with his Noctilux, but wouldn't give you his M5!

I have a long-term project with a youth orchestra, the BYSO. I don't use a Noctilux on this project but I happened to have it with me at a recent event so here are a couple shots. Mine is an E58, shots taken on an MP3 with Ilford XP2.

Not that one is in my near future or anything, but is there a site, a review, a webpage, a thread . . . whatever . . . comparing the various Noctilux versions?

All the f1.0 versions are optically identical. There's a current thread on the LUF in the M9 sub-forum that has shots from both the f1 and 0.95 and of course there are tons of shots on flickr from both. Not that one is in my near future or anything, but is there a site, a review, a webpage, a thread . . . whatever . . . comparing the various Noctilux versions?

Some wonderful shots in this thread.
Noctilux is more out of reach day by day now...geez. I miss the good old $2500 noctilux days.

If you really want a Noctilux right now is the time to get one. Threads like this do nothing to diminish the reputation of the Noctilux. So if it's like the classic Nikkor AIS glass of the 58 1.2 Nocturnal the price will just get higher and higher. Particularly IMO the price of the 50 1.0 Noctilux will continue to rise. I think it will be worth more than the new one in 10 years. The reason is for its unique signature. While the new new leica 50 .95 is as perfect as I've ever seen a lens. It's just not the same. Don't get me wrong think on the spec sheets and resolution charts and price tag it's a far superior lens for modern digital age. While the older versions are less than ideal models of optical perfection. There is just something special about their flaws that I love. I feel privileged to part of the photographers that use the lens.

dbjr - Erwin Puts has an extremely informative website on the noctilux lenses and other lenses, bodies etc.... You'll need a good sitting with a drink of some sort too
http://www.imx.nl/photo/
And, hopefully one day you "will be" able to get a hold of one.
