I just received the 35mm Nokton via ebay. Rangefinder focussing gives me severely out of focus images. When using live view on my m240, I will stand 5 feet from an object and the image on the LCD will be in focus at the 10 ft mark on the lens.

I just sent the seller an email, but wanted to check here to see if anyone has any ideas about what could be wrong.

The seller just responded with a promise to make it right with full refund or to get it fixed. he said he only used it on a Sony A7, so probably never even noticed the lens markings were way off from reality.

Thoughts on adjustment? I paid $700, so it was a good buy IMO.

Getting it serviced in LA will cost about $150-$200. But that is hoping that there is nothing seriously wrong with it. It sounds really out of whack.
$700 is the going rate for one in proper working condition (it's about how much I paid for mine) so it does not sound like a good deal to me.

The seller sounds like a decent dood, and most probably never looked at the focus marks, nor if it focussed correctly at infinity. Seeing he has an A7, he most probably bought it used too..

I'd send it back for a refund and keep looking. They often come up on fredmiranda.com as well as this site if you can't find a decent one on ebay.

same story here.
Severely backfocussing on arrival.
after a visit at the tech it's now ok.
I really wander how cosina still can't get their QC right after all these years.
It's not rocket science...

I do not have the 35mm f/1.2 v2, but the new Ultron-M 35mm f/1.7. After four months the lens got the "wobble", maybe a ring coming loose. I brought the lens back to the shop were I bought it - 3 year guarantee - in the beginning of february. I received it back yesterday. More than two months for tightening a ring ...

Erik.
