Nokton 35mm 1.2 & R2a

I've been a happy owner of a R2a for over six months now, shooting with the Ultron 1.7. I love the 35mm focal length, but 75% of my shooting is in available/low light situations, and I am getting really curious about the 35mm Nokton. I know its big, and (relatively) expensive, but that doesn't bother me too much.

Just wanted to check if this lens would be usable at 1.2 on the R2a, considering its fairly small base-length, and also, if that did cause problems, what would actually happen? Would the rangefinder patch be dimmer? Or the focus off?
I know that a small EBL makes it less accurate to focus, but how does it do this? What differences would I notice than say if i was shooting the Ultron?

the low EBL just means that the where you think "in focus" is may be a hair out. With slower lenses with more DOF you will fall in the DOF of the lens even if the focus is a bit off. With a Nokton or a long fast lens, u might not be able to alight the spot images accurately for a sharp picture.

That lens will also intrude upon ur viewfinder quite a bit (over 25%) so that is another consideration.

When I use mine, its usually on my Bessa T with the external VF for focusing and framing accuracy. ITs a big lens, but very nice for low light work.

Up close and wide open where focus is critical you may struggle with the 2A, the T or an M3 are the better opions. Andrew.
