Hi,
I am new the world of M camera and lenses. I had fixed lens RF cameras before. But only recently I acquired my first M camera, a M5 and a vc 35 Nokton.
No focus problem with this combo. infinity is spot on. And I don't notice any "focus shift" with the fast 35.
Yesterday, I got a bessa R2a and cv 50 2.5 combo from the bay. The 50 comes with a 28/90 m adapter. Tt brings ups the 90 frameline on the m5. So I rushed to the bay again and brought a cheapo 50 adapter from HK. Only later to find out it focus past infinity on the m5 (rangefinder image/ not film proven). After consulting with Dr. Google. it could be the adapter's thickness is not right. One of the characterics of the cheapo adapters. And when mounted on the bessa, it can't make to infinity. Mount the 35 (which I know focuses perfectly on the m5) on the bessa, can't make to infinity with a bigger margin. So I guess I need to adjust the rangefinder.
What should I do now?
Adjust the rangefinder of the bessa so it is matches with the 35?
wait for the cheapo 50 adapter to arrive and hope it has the right thickness and fix the focus issue with the 50?
For now , would it be better if I use the 50 with the m5 because at least I know the RF is right on? My assumption here is an accurate RF will show what is in fact in focus.
I am sorry, I am very confused at the moment.
Cheers
Liam

Get Voigtlander type-1 or type-2 Ltm adapter from Cameraquest.
Using cheap adapter is bad for your sanity and wellbeing.
Cheers,

Metabones adapters work well... Much cheaper than voigtlander ones but still not cheap.
