I've discovered today that aparently, North Korea produced in the 80's or 90's, a local copy of the Soviet Kiev-17 SLR. It's called the Hankmujong-1, or 학무정-1. The information is very scarce and from Korean or Russian sources, and anyway looks like the production was quite limited? Anybody knows more about this camera? Could be an interesting collectible, but with a small production... probably prices go up (rather ironic, being a communist product).

no, no, it's clearly a Kiev-17 (or better, a Kiev-19) with different name. The question if it is really a North Korean made (small) production. The name looks really in Korean. And what appears to be the serial number is quite low, only 858

Ok. Second round.
What do you think about Zenit-M serial numbers?

A Kiev-17 for sure, minus the self timer. Possibly made in the Arsenal factory and exported to PRK.

Yes, it could obviously just made in Arsenal and rebranded for the N Korean regime, like other sub brands. Pentacon did that a lot
