A fortnight in Italy. Mostly urban and car – no need to carry all with me all the time. Known territory. Accompanied by spouse; tempo not mine to control alone.
Here’s what I’m tempted to take. Seems too much.
Leica M6
Epson RD1
Canon S90
CV 15mm/4.5
CV 28/3.5
Rokkor M 40/2
CV 75/2.5
S90 goes everywhere all the time.
Whole kit fits into a modest fanny pack, which itself fits into a backpack. I generally wear a photo vest, with or w/o cameras.
Lenses and cameras cross compatible, FF and crop body expand angle of view range.
Still this seems more than I advise others to take.
Some options:
Leave Leica, staying all digi, RD1 and S90. Gains weight savings, indecision, freedom from film; loses slides.
Switch out M6 for an Xpan. Gains pano; loses lens compatibility.
Leave 75/2.5 at home. Gains weight savings, indecision; loses any reach.
Leave 15/4.5 at home. Gains weight savings, indecision; loses heroic FOV.
Interested in your thoughts.

Take the M6 with a couple of lenses and the S90. Leave the RD1 at home. Also, leave the 75 at home. You can zoom with the S90.

Replies are very interesting, clarifying. Thanks.
Looks like the S90 is on everybody's approval list.
Looks like the wides win out, with the 75 nominated to stay home.
And then, there is a smack down between M6 and RD1.
I like the idea of paring down to one full size body plus S90. i also like the idea of leaving one or more lenses at home.
More people want to weigh in on M6 vs RD1 AND reasons for it? Considerations that have not cropped up?
M6 -- pro, gives me wide, gives me slides; con, makes me pack film, as well as deciding what film to use and tieing me to that choice until roll end (I know I can rewind and substitute midstream but I won't)
RD1s -- pro, card compatible w. S90, no film bulk, shot to shot flexibility re speed and color/monochrome, cheaper operation; con, loses wide (crop), not a M6
