Yes, it's my 70th today. I've made it through the horrors of my 69th year, and I feel good.

“. . . a stone, a leaf, an unfound door; a stone, a leaf, a door. And of all the forgotten faces.
Naked and alone we came into exile. In her dark womb we did not know our mother's face; from the prison of her flesh have we come into the unspeakable and incommunicable prison of this earth.
Which of us has known his brother? Which of us has looked into his father's heart? Which of us has not remained forever prison-pent? Which of us is not forever a stranger and alone?
O waste of lost, in the hot mazes, lost, among bright stars on this weary, unbright cinder, lost! Remembering speechlessly we seek the great forgotten language, the lost lane-end into heaven, a stone, a leaf, an unfound door. Where? When?
O lost, and by the wind grieved, ghost, come back again.”

Happy birthday, Godfrey. Seventieth. It is truly a milestone. I know. Congratulations.
Thank you for the photo and the quotation. I remember Meryl Streep saying it in one of her movies. ". . . of all the forgotten faces." Thomas Wolfe. It had to have been Sophie's choice.

Thanks again!
It was a fine party this evening ... friends from up to 40 years ago visited and we all laughed.
@AlwaysOnAuto :: La Signora Fulvia is running very well, but it's at the shop for a little bit. I'm upgrading the headlights to the Fanalone design ... essentially, the two center 5.75-inch high-beam lamps come out, a set of standoffs go in, and then a set of 8-inch Hi-Low lamps go in. A relay gets added to distribute the load properly (away from the headlight switch circuit) and then you have not only a lot more light output on the road but that very pretty looking front end lamp setup like so:
Gonna be sweet ...

The candles on the cake may have been blown out as customary but never let your own light go out. 🙂
