Not a poll for obvious reasons, but what camera do you have a good chance of acquiring in the next 12 months?

For me, there are two, including one that actually exists.

There's a reasonable chance I will buy an M5. Always been intrigued by the thing. It seems a very well thought out approach.

I'd also think of buying something like the amazingly hyped (Fuji's PR guy merits a big bonus and a big raise) Fuji X100, if it uses interchangeable lenses. M-mount lenses would be nice, but not mandatory.

12 month is a long time, Bill. :p

I can definitely see myself getting that X100. M-4P (my birth year leica) can join if the timing works out. Maybe another Barnack won't hurt... :D

I'm not sure I need another camera...

M9.

Wait- Wait...

I ordered a Full-Spectrum Olympus EP-2 from Precision Camera, for work. Not arrived yet. SO: 100% chance of VNIR EP2. After all, my old VNIR DSLR is over 17 years old now.

I won't buy a thing until after the X100 is shipping and much reviewed. Fuji had preempted the market for at least 6 months, and send everyone back to the drawing board...clever.

As soon as I got my hands on one, I would start selling M and Nikon stuff. I don't need the money, just want to reduce clutter.

I quit watching eBay for Leica dead bodies as donors within a hour of the X announcement...because the CEO [me] of the dM-retrofit project pulled the plug.

The Fuji X100 certainly is tempting. The only thing keeping it off my "lust-have" list is that the fixed lens is not a 50mm equivalent.

My plan as of now is to budget for repairs to my current cameras in the next year.

I hope none... I've bought seven in a year and a half, each with a lens... The good thing is I use them all... And finally I don't want any other camera or lens.

Cheers,

Juan

I haven't owned a digital camera for almost a year now, but plan on buying one in January.

I was leaning heavily towards the Panasonic GF-1 with the 20mm lens, but the Fuji X100 looks like it may be the one I've been waiting for. I'd rather have a 40mm 135 equivalent, but I can definitely live with 35.

The manual aperture and shutter speed dials, the OVF and other features described for the X100 make it a serious contender, but as Coelacanth said, 12 months is a long time.

Even if I buy in January, a little over three months from now, who knows what may come along. That should give me enough time to consider all or a lot of the options anyway. Besides, I'm likely to change my mind several dozen times between now and then. :bang:

For sure...a Phase One 645 DF (but that is for a different forum)...and then my new rangefinder and that is up in the air, either a R4M or a M6.

If the Fuji X100 lives up to its specs, I will probably buy one instead of the second Canon G11 body I had planned on buying.

Probably none. But if I find one I can afford, I can see making the jump to 8x10.

William

I will buy my first little digital pocket camera in the next twelve months. And maybe a 5x7 camera...

Two weeks ago I would have said either a GF-1 with a 20 or an NX100 with a 30.

Today, no question - an X100 if it rings true.

Nikon F3.

i told myself i will not buy another camera for the next year or two, but when the Fuji X100 was announced i started to consider getting this for my wife :p
at least it won't be for me, so theoretically it will be my wife that is getting the Fuji X100.....

hmmm ok then it would leave me with still no plan to buy any camera in the next 12 months

Fuji X100 or Ricoh GXR with A12 50mm and the new 28mm. There's a lot of talk about bad AF on the GXR, but there's just something about that system that has me enticed and I just can't shake it.
