I had put in a marker bid on an eBay auction for an M5 (320040128969) and this morning have this email in my inbox:

"Dear eBay member excuse me because I disturb you...
First of all I would like to mention that I am a serious seller and I like to keep all transactions that I make safe and secure both for the buyer and me. That is why I like to handle all transactions under the eBay Secure payments program.
You must know that I have the same article that you were bidding on : Leica M5 chrome 3-lug at a better price of US$ 800 but if you will buy 2 the price for all is US$ 1450.
The item is brand new and comes with an international warranty of 3 year.
All handbook and the documentation are originals them the guarantee certificate is in English.
So if you are interested to proceed under 100% money back guarantee and purchase protection against description mistakes please E-mail me at first_last @yahoo.com
Thank you for your time and have a nice day."

(I changed the email address to protect myself.)

Obviously I won't respond to this as it is a scam, but man ... brand new, Passport warranty ... whoo hoo!!!

Jaap: Well there goes your free gift! Since my SO would be displeased if I brought two new cameras into the house, I hand randomly chosen an RFF member to be the recipient of one of them ... oh well. 🙄

If there's a discount for three, and you take one, and I take one that means one for somebody else.

I thought if I bought one and you bought one, we could sell the third at current value on the secondhand market, and share the profit. 😀
