Does anybody have any experience with Soviet/Russian half-frame cameras? I've seen a couple of them on eBay and I'm strongly tempted (fits in with my small zone focus camera fetish)?

I own an Agat 18k that I carry every where. I like it a lot. Mechanical program exposure that does pretty well. $25 or so when I bought it.

Sounds interesting, I'll check those out. Thanks Rob.

Well-known
I had a Tschaika 2 many years ago and still have some very sharp pictures taken with it. Four speeds + B and a 28mm Industar f2.8 lens. Interestingly the lens has a 39 mm thread mount so it can be used as an enlarging lens. Wrong register for Leica type camera use!! and would probably not cover the 24 x 36 frame. The instruction book stated " it is absolutely forbidden to remove the lens" presumeably the penalty was death by firing squad. I have an Agat, nice but a little fragile!

Sounds interesting John.
