Notes from the road. A project.

Thanks Lynn and Robert for the comments that suggest new ideas and directions for the project. I frequently notice the presence of repeated elements. These are part of the agricultural landscape, monotonous at first glance, but if you look carefully they always reveal something specific.

Just an observation: #6, 8, 9, 15 are the only photos that don't have mountains (and their clouds) as a backdrop. These pictures stand apart, like punctuation points, to the continuity provided by the others.

Thanks Lynn. Acute observation. I had not noticed it. This may be a way to give a rhythm to the story, as you say a punctuation in the flow of images that show the landscape as a whole.

I like all the vertical lines in no. 18, it also emphasizes the fact that, when using square format, you can not only get away with placing the horizon in the middle of the frame, but also get a very good composition.

Thank you Konicaman. Doing a little the square format I realize that one is naturally led to symmetrical compositions or with the horizon in the middle. Maybe in the square there are other ways to make a dynamic composition...

Your photographs go from strength to strength.
I am sure it has to be with your treatment..
I did heart rehab, which set me on a new course..
I went to look at most of your work.
Wow!
B/W as it should be.
I love your dynamics, geometry and the strong contrasts.
Can't wait for more..
Good luck and again Thank you.

Good luck for you too, leicapixie, and thank you for your really encouraging comment.
Sometimes I doubt I will can always find the subjects for my photos during the trip.
Maybe there is a relation between my treatment and the becoming of this project. It seems they support the one with the other...

I can hardly add anything to the favorable comments made to date. But If I had to choose just one photo, it would probably be #10 showing the muddy, rutted farm road. This shot may not be as pretty as the others, but it has ruggedness and depth, especially with the craggy mountains in the background.

I think of #10 as the “street” version in the series. The addition in the frame of a working person would make it complete.

Thank you for the very appreciated feedback. This photo is a bit different for the reasons you have pointed. Perhaps less landscape, more life and activities (or traces of that). Unfortunately I shoot always passing through the roads and there is no person on the edge of the fields. I'd like to add persons on photos, but I think it will be difficult on this project.
