Notes from the road. A project.

A technical question for you, Luigi: Are you shooting these photos in mono on your E-P2, or are you converting them to black and white in post processing? I've been very impressed with the tonality, and as a fellow m4/3 user I'm interested in how you're getting these tones. Thanks.

Thank you Steve, very much. I'm shooting them in color jpg, then I convert to bw with SilverEfex using film simulation "Neopan 100" which gave me these tones. If you play a bit with the settings, you will be able to obtain a certain uniformity that I think appropriate to this series.

Thank you, Paul, very much. Yes, I've stopped during the summer my regular trips and shots. It resumes next week!

Thank you Paul for your return and feedback.
I'm now in South Italy, near Salerno and Paestum.
My therapy goes on with some improvements even if it's a long term therapy.

Thanks Bruno Gracia for the feedback. I have used a broken Olympus E-P2 which was destined to a dustbin... :) You can find more technical details on the early pages of the thread.

I have been enjoying your photos from the start of this project. I am not going to try to choose favorites except to say what a great idea this was and you executed it so nicely. I see it as a complete body of work instead of individual images. I have enjoyed the photos individually, but even more as a complete series. It would be so nice to see this as a small book or on a gallery wall. If you decide to do a book or an e-book count me in for a copy of it. - jim

Thank you Jim for your generous comment and great feedback. I love books and I always dreamed to make one with my photos. Perhaps this is next work for me (editing and other), if I will be able. Anyway I am happy with this project: I have learned a lot from it. Also the time has come to dedicate myself a little to the color... :)
